Mr. Sem Phalla, Managing Director of the Cambodia Marathon Program, said that the times of the winners from number 1 to number 3 of the international half marathon event in Preah Sihanouk Province will be recorded and displayed in the World Marathon Organization Records.
The above expert emphasized that, this is the international standard event. Therefore, the times of the winners from number 1 to number 3 will be announced to the world. Meanwhile, the world marathon experts will also participate in measuring the road and monitoring the competition.
Please be informed that, the 11th International Half Marathon Day in Preah Sihanouk Province will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Mr. Sem Phalla also said that, as of now, there are about 2,000 runners who registered from nearly 40 countries. However, registration will continue until the day of the event.
H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, said that this year’s event will have some adjustments to the running road, by extending the length of the beach running road to allow participating athletes to get fresh air with enjoy beautiful beach and nice sea views, as well as avoiding the impact of traffic in the city.
The new running route adjustments are to connect with many infrastructures in the coastal area, up to the Preah Thong Neang Neak roundabout, which must be run up and down the mountain.
For the main purpose of organizing of this beach running event is to run to promote the preservation of the coastal environment, on behalf of the member of the world’s most beautiful beach club. Meanwhile, funds are also collected from the organization to donate to children’s hospitals and several other partner organizations.
At the same time, the organizing commission has allowed the national athletics athletes to register for free.
