Cambodia signs on the contract to host the 2031 Asian Youth Games

With receiving the highest approval in principle from Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, representing His Excellency Senior Minister Thong Khon, President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, together with H.E. Seng Vannak, Deputy Governor, highest representing H.E Khuong Sreng, Governor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Government, were invited to attend the signing ceremony on the contract to host the event of the 5th Asian Youth Games 2031.


The signing ceremony took place on Monday, January 26, 2026 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with the participation of H.E Timothy Fox, Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

According to H.E Vath Chamroeun, this contract is a standard mechanism to organize the competing event of the multi-sports of the 2031 Asian Youth Games, which divides responsibilities between the owner and the host to be right in accordance with international sports regulations. Meanwhile, this contract also confirms and guarantees that the competing event will be organized and held smoothly, softy, firmly and successfully for the 45 Olympic member countries to participate.


H.E Vath Chamroeun affirmed that, the Cambodia Olympic Movement is committed to making every effort to prepare all the qualifications to fulfill its obligations to create a new historical record for Cambodia and join in celebrating Cambodia becoming an upper middle-income country by 2030.
