The female player Rith Monita decided to run in the 9th Angkor Ultra Trail Event, wants to show the world that Cambodia is a safe country

The first female player of Cambodia participated to run the 100km distance category in the event of the Angkor Ultra Trail has not given up on her ambition to participate despite being less prepared than in previous years. Committing to participate of running in the long-distance category because she wanted to show and send a message to the world that Cambodia is a very safe country.

The long-distance running female player of Cambodia who took part in the first 100km distance category of the Angkor Ultra Trail event has showed her pride and sent a message to the world that Cambodia is a very safe country, despite has the encroachment on the territory of the Siem Reap province by neighboring country. However, all these problems have not affected the safety of tourists who come to participate in the event and travel. 33-year-old female player Rith Monita, a runner from Phnom Penh, made this statement when she came to run with her father in the 9th Angkor Ultra Trail in the Angkor region of Siem Reap province.

This female athlete has highlighted that; this is the third time she has participated in a long-distance running event. while at the first time she trained for half a month, the second time she trained for a week, while the third time, the 9th Angkor Ultra Trail in 2026, she trained at least.


Rith Monita claimed that, the factor that keeps her going and not giving up on this running event is because running is fun, seeing the real scenery with the fields, rice fields, villages, and ancient Khmer temples that help her feel happy. In particular, she wants to call on more Cambodian women to participate in this running event to be more and more.

Please know that, Rith Monita is the only Cambodian female athlete who participate in the long-distance running event or the Angkor Ultra Trail in the 100-kilometer race in 2024, while in 2026, the number of Cambodian female athletes registered to run the 100-kilometer race has increased to more than 10 persons.
