The Angkor International Half Marathon Sets New Record in 30 Years

The 2025 Angkor International Half Marathon attracted more than 16,000 participants, according to H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.


His Excellency the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia emphasized that, this is a special new record and comes on the 30th anniversary of this major marathon event in Cambodia. His Excellency added that the significant increase of registrations shows the progress and prosperity of the event, as well as the growth of development and peace of the national country.

The increasing of participants will also help the tourism, business and other sectors, especially people doing businesses, traders, the informal economy and tour operators, because of eating, accommodation and many other services has also increased, this was added by H.E. Vath Chamroeun.

Meanwhile, the event of the Angkor International Half Marathon Day also contributes to charity activities in collaboration with the Golden Heart Organization of Japan and the support of the Embassy of Japan, as well as the support of Manulife Insurance Company, which will help mine victims, children's organizations and children's hospitals.

It should be reminded that, the Angkor International Half Marathon Day in 2024 received more than 14,000 participants. But for 2025, it will be held on Sunday, December 7, under the presidency of H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister, and the Highest Representative of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
