Four national boxing athletes of
Cambodia, such as Sao Rainsey, Vy Sophos, Nasredinov Anwar and Rajapov Abdullah,
led by coach Chey Nara, went to compete in the event of the World Boxing
Championship in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which will be started from
November 30 to December 14, 2025.
Among them, Sao Rainsey will compete
in the 54kg weight category, Vy Sophos 65kg, Nasredinov Anwar 80kg and Rajapov
Abdullah 92kg.
H.E. Buy Sophoan, President of the
Cambodia Boxing Federation, said that this year is a special year in which the
International Boxing Federation has prepared a prize fund and has both
professionals and non-professionals participants. This is the first
time that Cambodia has participated because it is a top event and with a lot of
famous athletes. This participation is an opportunity for Cambodian
athletes to absorb the experience from those good players to further hone their
skills. In addition to the competition, they will also have training and
friendly matches to improve their skills there for a while.
Relating to the goal of participating
in this major world event, H.E. Buy Sophoan emphasized that winning or losing
is one thing, but what is the important thing is that the team must work hard
to get the best of their ability and seek opportunities to develop themselves
further.
