Phnom Penh: Recently, martial arts female athlete Sam Tharoth was selected by the Women of the Future Awards South East Asia as a candidate to win the Women Of the Future (WOF) Sports Award, which was held in Singapore on the night of November 27.

Sam Tharoth is a multi-talented athlete in Lbokator, mixed martial arts and kun khmer. This female athlete has also acted in several films such as the stick of the Khmer Rouge Killed My Father, Breaking the Prison and the Hollywood film Short Gun Wedding.

Despite her success in some sports and some arts, Sam Tharoth continues to compete in national and international events, winning medals and trophies for her country. In some events, Tharoth was beaten by her opponents, but this athlete remained energetic and wanted to compete again and again.

The multi-sport female athlete Sam Tharoth expressed great pride in winning the Southeast Asian Women’s Award because she herself did not believe that she could win this award. Tharoth posted this message: “The history of the candidates who are nominated for this women’s award in this sport is all very famous and strong. I never thought I would win the award.”

However, by winning the WOF Women’s Award for the first time, Sam Tharoth expressed her true feelings on Thursday night: “Tonight, I stand on stage of the Women of the future as a fighter, a dreamer, and a proud Asian woman from Cambodia, and I won.”

Tharoth added that: “This award is not just mine, it belongs to everyone who believes in me and to all the women who have been selected who have come here to this room tonight. The stage of Woman of the Future tonight has shown myself and everyone that anything is possible. To all women, if I can do it, you can do it too!”
