The Taekwondo Event of the Hope International Open is an opportunity to hone the skills of Cambodia’s grassroots youth.

The Taekwondo WT youth from the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Vietnam, including the host Cambodia, will participate to compete in the first Hope International Open Taekwondo Championship 2026 in Phnom Penh, which will be held from January 9 to 11, 2026 at the National Stadium (Olympic Stadium).

Mr. Yiv Vandy, Chief of the Organizing Committee of competition, said that the international event will focus on competitions for ages 5 years old and up, namely between 5 and 8 years old, 12 to 14 years old, 15 to 17 years old and 18 years old and up. The same expert emphasized that the event of Hope International Open Taekwondo Championship is very important in hone the skills of Cambodia’s grassroots youth, especially in preparation for 2031 when Cambodia will host the Asian Youth Games as well as other major international events.

Meanwhile, hosting this time also shows Cambodia’s good security factor and safe that can obtain the right to organize the international competitions, even though Cambodia was recently invaded by Thailand. Therefore, both the delegates and the athletes who participate in the event of the Hope International Open Taekwondo Championship will be warm in their hearts.

Finally, Mr. Yiv Vandy has called on all guardians and the public to come and watch and encourage the Cambodia Taekwondo youth in the event of the Hope International Open Taekwondo Championship in large numbers.
