The final sports competition of Cambodia at the Asian Youth Games broke old records and performed well

Phnom Penh: The event of 3rd Asian Youth Games hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain concluded on October 31, 2025, with athletes from all countries returned to their countries by November 2, while Cambodian athletes returned to their homeland in the evening of November 2, led by His Excellency Pon Sok, Director General of the General Directorate of Sports.

Speaking on his arrival at the Techo International Airport, His Excellency Pon Sok stated that the last sports that continued to compete at the end of the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, although we did not receive any medal results for the country, but some sports broke old records and performed well, especially our athletes maintained fair play ethics.

All these factors have shown positive results for Cambodia in preparing to host the 2028 ASEAN University Games and the 2031 Asian Youth Games.

Please note that, the sports of Cambodia that returned back to country on November 2, 2025 are: table tennis, badminton, weightlifting, judo, jiu-jitsu, and swimming. The event of 3rd Asian Youth Games, hosted by Bahrain, has 45 participating countries, including Cambodia, which sent 14 sports to participate, winning a total of 4 medals, including 3 medals in the Kun Khmer category and 1medal in the Pencaksilat category, while Cambodia's ranking stands at number 31.
