KOREAN AMBASSADOR’S CUP Competition Will Contribute to Producing of Outstanding Resources Towards the AYG 2029

Phnom Penh: H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports and President of the Cambodia Taekwondo Federation, stated that the KOREAN AMBASSADOR’S CUP Competition, sponsored by Korea, organized annually, truly provides an opportunity for taekwondo athletes from the capital and provincial clubs to showcase their technical talents and promote taekwondo to the public in preparation for the 5th Asian Youth Games in 2029, which Cambodia will host. The statement by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports was made at the closing ceremony of the Taekwondo Competition of KOREAN AMBASSADOR’S CUP 2025 at the Boyong Building in the National Stadium. 

 

In order to strengthen the capacity toward this historic event, H.E. Dr. Deputy Prime Minister Hang Chuon Naron urged all young athletes to continue to work hard, train, and adhere to good discipline to bring honor to the nation while we host it. In addition, the 2025 competition is also an important competition to encourage Cambodia taekwondo athletes and is also an opportunity to further evaluate the technical level to find the true talents of outstanding athletes and coaches in the sport of taekwondo. More importantly, this year's competition has greatly helped to promote cooperation, mainly for friendship and cultural exchange between Cambodia and Korea.  

 

At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister Hang Chuon Naron expects that the athletes who win the championship in this competition will strive to train and work hard their skills further to promote the sport of Taekwondo in Cambodia.

 

Mr. Choi Yong-suk, the national taekwondo coach, who is Korean, stated that the 2025 Republic of Korea Ambassador Taekwondo Championship has a total of 150 delegates, coaches and players (126 women), with a total of 22 clubs from 04 capitals and provinces, including: Phnom Penh, Kampong Chhnang, Battambang and Ratanakkiri, competing in a total of 37 disciplines, including: 36 martial arts disciplines and 1 martial arts demonstration. 

 

Please note that, the Competition of Republic of KOREAN AMBASSADOR’S CUP has been running since 2015 until now.
