Former Manchester United striker Mr. Wayne Rooney says that the current defenders are not as good as him, when he was a professional player.
Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show recently, the most goal scorer in Man Utd history has faced many of the best defenders of his generation.
Around the current defending line, the 39-year-old said: "the center-defending line is not good like my generation. The current Premier League defenders are William Saliba and Gabriel, who are great partners. They work well together. They can lead, they can communicate well with the other members on the pitch. That's what a defender has to do, apart from defending. But they are not good as my generation, it's just acceptable."
Wayne Rooney, who came through the Everton academy, moved to Manchester United in 2004 and has contributed to the success of the Red Devils.
The former managers Birmingham City and Plymouth have reminded that the defending line that he has met hardly when he has played against them, such as John Terry, Gerard Pique, Paolo Maldini, Ricardo Carvalho and Alessandro Nesta.
